Where are all the heroes?

The world measures heroes by wealth, possessions, earthly power, physical prowess, musical talent, or any number of other temporal yardsticks which pass away with our three score and ten. Even if they stand for centuries or millennia, all pale in comparison to God’s own benchmark that spans beyond the farthest galaxy to eternity itself.

We all live forever, this brief existence on earth but a single tick. Everlasting marks assess true champions. The lives of missionaries and their families testify to God’s love and grace, heroes on earth dedicated to uniting souls with their eternal Creator. Thank ya’ll and God bless.

Weather

Since I love flying sooooo much, I have been checking the weather at all four destinations of our journey. Happy to report all clear in DFW, Atlanta, Dakar, and Johannesburg. Gettyup!! Guess I need to take Matthew 19:26 to heart. God is good!!!

Thoughts Before the Trip

This is my third mission trip to Africa, the first to the country of South Africa. I am particularly excited by this trip because we get to help conduct a summer camp, something I love and have been involved with in children’s ministry at LPC for the last eight years. We have a great team, and I can’t wait to see how God uses each of us to glorify Him.

I pray that our travel is safe and uneventful, that our health stays strong, that we are supernaturally protected, that God covers our families back at home with His mighty hand, that our hearts stay open and flexible, and that we are used in a grand way to further His purpose on this earth.

Hopefully we can add to this website and blog during the trip as time and Internet access permits. If not, we will post our stories and pics upon our return.
